How to make a Swarvski Heart Pendant Necklace

 

Beading and jewellery making is a great hobby.  I discovered how easy it is to make your own jewellery at a fraction of the price. Making your own jewellery at home you can dedicate as much or as little of your time as you like, and if you have small children there are a large variety of less expensive, or plastic beads they can use to amuse themselves as well.

 

I particularly like the Swarovski crystal elements and pearls.

This is a very simple necklace with matching earring set that anyone can make.

Tools

Flat nose pliers

Jump ring pliers

Materials- Necklace

1 x 22 mm Swarovski heart pendant

1 x pendant clasp

28 cm of 4 mm fine silver chain

3 x 4 mm silver jump rings

1 x silver parrot clasp

Material - Earrings

2 x 16 mm Swarovski heart pendants

2 x 6-7mm jump rings silver

2 x sterling silver earring wire hooks

Method - Necklace

Step 1: Attach the 22 mm pendant to the clasp (open the clasp, insert one side into the pendant hole and push the clasp together).

Step 2: Open one 4 mm jump ring, attach it to the pendant clasp.

Step 3: Thread the fine silver chain through the jump ring – using the desired length of chain for your necklace.

Step 4: Attach a 4 mm silver jump ring on either side of the necklace chain.

Step 5: Take a jump ring attached to the necklace chain, attach it to one side of the parrot clasp. Repeat for the other side.

Method – Earrings

Step 1: Open one 6-7mm jump ring.

Step 2: Thread the jump ring through one of the 16 mm heart pendants.

Step 3: With the jump ring open, attach it to the earring hook, then close the jump ring.

Step 4: If required, twist the earring clasp loop so the crystal heart hangs facing forwards.
